About Jean
Highly regarded for his ability to make history feel relevant and alive, Jean Bou is a former Australian War Memorial historian, university lecturer and holds a PhD in History.
Having taught at one of Australia’s top universities for over a decade, Jean is passionate about historical accuracy and helping people understand the complexities of history.
Jean shares his knowledge widely, having led courses and lectured at the Australian National University, the Australian Defence Force Academy, and the Australian War College. At the Australian National University, Jean led a War Studies major and a post-graduate program in strategic studies.
As an accomplished presenter, Jean is sought out for his ability turn complex, historical narratives into compelling and captivating stories.
Jean is the author or editor of ten books on Australian military history, published multiple historical journal articles and presented at global conferences.
